Our own charity, The Wiggly Worm, is set to deliver change for those in the
world of food, education and tourism. It builds upon years of dedication by
Rob Rees MBE working in the voluntary and public arenas.
Initially, as part of good corporate responsibility and social enterprise, Rob was
inspired working with young people and hard to reach groups in raising self
esteem, basic skills and employability using food as a tool. Many projects have
involved drug and alcohol abuse teams, pupil referral units and low income
groups.
Our focus is on empowering people to do better by improving skills and
access around food and cookery. This is evident through the various initiatives
that the company supports, including Get Gloucestershire Cooking, the Kraft
Health4Schools project, British Food Fortnight, and chairing the South West
Year of Food & Farming delivery group.
Public appointments past and present include former Board Member of
the Food Standards Agency, Member of the Advisory Committee on the
Microbiological Safety of Food, Board Member and Trustee of the School Food
Trust, Trustee of the British Nutrition Foundation, Director of Stroud Education
Business Partnership, former Trustee of Gloucestershire Association of the
Blind, and former Director of Taste of the West. |
